Program Structure
Each school day, your student will join a thirty-minute live instruction video call with their homeroom teacher via Class for Zoom.
At the beginning of the school year, you and your student will both receive the link for this daily session by email. (The link will remain the same for all of your student's daily sessions.)
Your student will receive this link to their RISE email address.
What’s my student’s email address?
Typically, your email address will be your student’s first name and last name, separated by a period, followed by @riseonlinestudent.org.
For example, if your student’s name were Jane Doe, their email address would be [email protected].
Go to gmail.com to enter your RISE student email address and password.
What if I have trouble logging into my student’s email address?
If you have any problems logging in, please reach out to our support team at (844)562-8606; press 2 for tech support.
How can my student access their coursework through Clever?
Flex Fridays
Each Friday, RISE Online Academy offers fun virtual events and other activities to help students connect with each other.
Students can move between breakout rooms to try out different activities (like LEGO building, pet show and tell, a paper airplane challenge – just to name a few!).
Your student will be expected to join these Flex Friday sessions with their teacher. You’ll receive the link to join through your student’s email.
Flex Fridays will replace the thirty-minute live instruction session for the day– your student won’t be expected to join any other sessions on Fridays.
Attendance
Your student is expected to attend all of their thirty-minute instructional sessions with their teacher, as well as each Flex Friday event.
If your student misses one of these sessions, please ensure you complete an alternate measure of attendance for the day, such as submitting a written assignment or assessment to your class in Clever.
What should I do if my student needs to miss a day of class? How should I report the absence?
If your student is going to have limited or no school activity due to an excusable reason, please fill out our RISE Academy Excused Absence Form.
Please also notify their homeroom teacher as soon as possible (preferably that morning).
You can call or email their homeroom teacher, or send a message through the LMS. Please provide your student's name, the date of the absence, and the reason for the absence.
Your student's homeroom teacher might offer an alternative time to meet with your student, if rescheduling would work for your family. They can also discuss alternate methods of attendance for the day.

Using Your RISE Laptop
Your student should use their RISE email address and password to log into their laptop.
Important: Don’t throw away your laptop box or shipping return label! You’ll need them to return your laptop at the end of the program.
