3.7 Reimbursement Guidelines for Supplemental Programs and Classes (Oregon 25-26)

At OpenEd, we believe you know your student best!

We also understand that students learn in a variety of ways, using a mix of programs, classes, and resources.

Below is a clear outline of what is and is not approved for reimbursement when it comes to supplemental educational programs.

Approved for Reimbursement

OpenEd may reimburse for:

1. Non-Accredited Supplemental Programs Covering Multiple Subjects

This includes programs like micro-schools and co-ops that provide instruction in multiple subjects but are not accredited or full-time (four or more days a week).

Example of an acceptable receipt for a micro-school/co-op:

2. Supplemental Classes (Not Full-Time Tuition) at Accredited Programs

This includes individual classes taken through accredited private programs, universities, or other accredited educational institutions.

Example of an acceptable receipt for accredited programs:

Please keep in mind that a receipt must include the following:

  • Date of transaction

  • Description of each class or service purchased

  • Price paid for each item

  • Payment method (e.g., Visa, check, etc.)

  • Vendor contact information (phone number or email address)

Important: OpenEd does not reimburse tuition for traditional full-time accredited private schools.

Reimbursements are for supplemental support only.

Not Approved for Reimbursement

OpenEd will not reimburse for:

  • Full-time accredited private schools

  • Publicly-funded charter schools
