2.5 Education Plan vs Schedule Builder (Utah 25-26)

Updated this week

If you're joining us for another year of personalized learning, you might notice some differences between InfoCenter's Schedule Builder and our new platform's education plan.

Here is an overview of some of the biggest differences:

InfoCenter's Schedule Builder

OpenEd Platform's Education Plan

Required you to select a period, subject, course type, and description for each subject on your student’s schedule

In most cases, you’ll only be asked to choose the subject; in some cases, you’ll also be asked to pick a course

Required you to select a course type for each subject, which directly related to the funding that you received for that course

We're getting rid of course types altogether; as long as your education plan fulfills the program’s requirements, you can use your wallet however you want

Important: In the past, students in grades 9-12 could switch what they were taking for Period 6 at the end of 1st semester; in some cases, this change led to an increase in available funds.

In our new platform, you'll have access to all of your wallet funds at the beginning of the school year, so these kinds of adjustments won't be necessary.
