Q: Can students with special needs participate in the program?

A: Absolutely! OpenEd seeks to help all students have a positive educational experience that best meets their needs. Students can work at their optimal pace, in an optimal setting, and at optimal times. All students can access free tutoring, either one-on-one or in small groups, to get the support they need.

Q: How will my child with an IEP receive support?

A: If your child has an IEP or 504 plan OpenEd will work closely with your local school district to make sure they receive the right services. We help coordinate the process, support necessary accommodations, and assist with IEP reviews so your child gets the guidance and support they need to thrive.

Q: What resources are available for students with dyslexia?

A: We are dedicated to helping your child thrive with our program. OpenEd’s personalized education focus is especially beneficial for students with learning differences like dyslexia. It allows them to work at their own pace and pay special attention to specific subjects.

Q: My child has an IEP or 504 plan, or I'm worried about their academic or behavioral progress—what should I do?

A: Whether your child has an IEP or a 504 plan, or you’re exploring either path, we’re happy to help you understand the right next step. We can guide you through the referral process which may include gathering: monitoring journals, online assessments, student history, work or speech samples, and optional medical documentation.
