All OpenEd students are required to participate in state tests or submit a test opt-out form when available.
We'll be sharing more information about how your student can opt in or out of these state tests through the OpenEd platform soon.
- Review the Oregon Department of Education website for student assessment information. 
- Students are encouraged to use resources from Study Island and Exact Path to prepare for state tests. 
Important information about state testing:
- OSAS is administered in April/May on a secure browser and proctored online by a school-trained representative.

Q: What options do I have if I do not want my child to participate in the required science assessment?
A: You can request that your student be exempt from science testing based on disability or religion. Families requesting an exemption will provide a reason and receive additional instructions from [email protected]. Requests for exemption must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be submitted in writing to our Principal of Assessment ([email protected]) 
- Include the reason for the request (disability or religion) 
- Propose an alternative learning activity for the student 
Q: What kind of device will my student use for this online proctored test?
A: These tests must be accessed using a secure browser. View a list of acceptable devices.

A: You can use this practice link to familiarize your child with the assessment's design, format, procedures, and item types.
Q: When and how do I get the results?
