5.4 3rd Party Provider Reimbursement (Utah)

A live group class taught by a community organization or business where the parent pays for the class and can be reimbursed for the tuition (not fees or supplies) up to $300/period.

Available amount: $300 per 3rd Party Provider period ($150 for the mid-year program)

Reimbursement Window: September 25 – April 30 (January 15 – April 30 for the mid-year program)

Number of submissions per year: Up to two (2) Request for Reimbursement forms can be submitted for each 3rd Party Provider period.

Additional details:

3rd Party Provider reimbursements are approved for:

  • Tuition for a standard, non-customized, publicly available group class held between August – May of the current school year (January – May for the mid-year program)

  • The course must be advertised to the general public (not to just a specific group or groups) through a website that includes full course details, specific dates of instruction, location, registration instructions, and contact information.

3rd Party Provider reimbursements are not approved for:

  • Private instruction*

  • Customized courses*

  • Self-paced, asynchronous, or video-recorded courses*

  • Concurrent courses (see 3rd Party Provider FAQs)*

  • Supplies and materials*

  • Fees (including tax*, credit card fee*, registration fee*, uniform fee, travel fee, etc.)

  • Non-secular (religious) courses

  • Payment to a family member’s business

  • Classes in June and July

*These items can be part of a Custom-built course or reimbursed with Technology Allowance funds.
