A Weekly Learning Log is a short summary of a student’s educational activities throughout the week. It demonstrates active participation in the program and serves as an official attendance record. Logs can be submitted in InfoCenter by the parent or student.
Weekly Learning Logs can be submitted anytime during the week and are due the following Monday by 11:59 pm MT.
A caring, certified teacher will respond to each Log. Your child’s Homeroom Teacher can also offer educational support should you have questions about state standards and resources to supplement learning.
Important: A Weekly Learning Log is required every week. The Weekly Learning Log is the attendance record accountable to your School of Enrollment. Students must maintain an overall grade of 80% and have no zeros to remain enrolled.
Submitting more than four late Weekly Learning Logs during the year or receiving 0% on multiple Weekly Learning Logs may necessitate withdrawal.
How to fill out a Weekly Learning Log:
Log in to Homeroom each week through InfoCenter and complete the following steps:
Required: Place a checkmark next to each subject area.
Students are required to spend time on each subject at least once a week. Please provide a brief explanation for any subjects marked “No.”
Required: Provide a 3-5 sentence reflection on your week related to any subject area or competency.
You can submit a written or oral reflection via the text box, an uploaded document (20 MB max), or a link to a document, blog, or video.
Optional: Review the list of competencies and select any number developed during the week. This provides a simple way to reflect on student progress beyond traditional subject areas.
Once a competency is selected, it will turn gray, but feel free to check it again if applicable.
Optional: Feel free to share fun comments, questions, or feedback with your Homeroom Teacher in the final open text box.

Please submit all Learning Logs through your parent InfoCenter account for now.
How to excuse a Weekly Learning Log:
We understand that families may have extenuating circumstances such as hospitalization, serious illness or injury, or family emergencies that completely prevent a student from participating in educational activities during the week. As such, you may request to excuse up to four Weekly Learning Logs per year.
To request an excused Log, select “Excuse this Learning Log” and provide a brief explanation in the summary box.
An Excused Log needs to be submitted by the Monday at 11:59 pm MT deadline and will not impact the student’s overall Homeroom grade.
If ongoing extenuating circumstances prevent a student from participating in their approved educational program for more than two consecutive weeks, please contact your student’s Homeroom Teacher directly to discuss options.
If on vacation, students can submit a summary of any educational experiences and receive full points if it is turned in on time.
IMPORTANT: As Weekly Learning Logs are an essential requirement of our personalized education program, students who request more than four Excused Logs or regularly submit Logs after the deadline may need to withdraw.
Monthly Portfolio of Work:
The monthly portfolio of work is a collection of your student’s favorite projects (like a scrapbook, journal, or files of their work) that can be shared with our partner schools upon request. If you are selected to share your student’s portfolio, a representative from the partner school will email you to schedule a video chat at a convenient time for you and your student.
Weekly Learning Log FAQs
My child is working on the same subjects every week. Can I submit the same reflection for each Weekly Learning Log?
To accurately demonstrate participation and attendance, it is important to submit a unique reflection for each Log.
Can my child upload their agenda or calendar for their reflection?
You are welcome to submit a calendar or agenda in addition to a written or oral reflection.
Can my child record their reflection and send it as a video?
Absolutely!
If my student’s grade is above 80% in Homeroom, is it okay to skip some Weekly Learning Logs?
Students must submit ALL Weekly Learning Logs AND maintain an 80% or higher in Homeroom to fulfill program requirements and remain eligible for the program. It is not an option to skip Weekly Learning Logs.
What if I go on vacation?
Vacations can be wonderful times to learn. We encourage students to include things they learned while on vacation in their Weekly Learning Logs (and we love to hear about our students’ adventures)! If you prefer to work ahead before you go on vacation, you can submit Logs up to three weeks early. If needed, students are also able to request up to four Excused Logs due to extenuating circumstances.
Can I keep a copy of my child’s Weekly Learning Logs?
Sure! Feel free to create them in Word or Google Docs and then upload the document or paste a link to the document into your Weekly Learning Log.
Why am I getting notified that my student has missing or incomplete Weekly Learning Logs?
A missed or incomplete Log will result in an intervention notice.
We are invested in your student’s progress and want them to succeed. To be eligible for our program, students must maintain active participation in the program, as demonstrated by Weekly Learning Log submissions.
You can check your student’s Weekly Learning Log submission status and Homeroom grade anytime in InfoCenter under Homeroom.
A student may be withdrawn if the Weekly Learning Logs are consistently late or incomplete. We will notify you by email if your student is missing a Log or their Homeroom grade drops below 80%.
Review our Withdrawal/Repayment Policy for students who withdraw before the end of the school year.
Do I need to save my child's work until the end of the program year?
Please have a collection of work samples from the current program year ready in case you are selected to share a monthly portfolio of work with our school partner. You do not need to hang on to work samples after the program year has ended.
